Before Hurricane Florence inundated her hometown of New Bern, Donna Nyzio traveled to Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania to paint at the Kuerner Farm a national historic landmark deeply connected to the life and works of Andrew Wyeth. The four oil on panel paintings by Nyzio in Winter Show inspired by the place where Wyeth produced over one-third of his works is an homage and a meditation on the American Master. In this view of the farm owned by Wyeth’s German neighbors' elements of the sparse landscape and farmhouse all are invested with significance – from the windows which appear inhabited to the front porch with its iconic flower pot which awaits the arrival of the artist at the gate from over the hill.
