Recognized as one of America's most vibrant 20th century artists, Romare Bearden (1911-1988) depicted the richness and vibrancy of African American life. A North Carolina native, Bearden was inspired by his personal experiences, the rural south and a variety of historical, literary and musical influences. The lithographs offered here were seen last in in 2014, when GreenHill debuted Select Collection | Prints of Romare Bearden. This important exhibition presented the works of private collector, Lou Milano, who acquired art by Bearden for nearly forty years. Milano had been introduced to Bearden at the Gerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte in the 1980s.
It is our privilege to offer the following signed and numbered lithographs by Bearden for purchase.
