Internships at GreenHill
We are currently only accepting applications for Education, Curatorial & Shop internships. Please note in your application if you are interested in exploring multiple internship opportunities, or if you have specific interests that you would like to explore and would align with the position.
GreenHill has a wide variety of opportunities for student interns. Internships can carry academic credit with the student's university; check with an academic advisor for details. All internships take place during regular GreenHill office hours (Monday-Friday from 9AM-5PM) unless otherwise decided. See detailed description of internship opportunities below.
EDUCATION INTERN
- Goals: Gain experience working with groups and members of the community visiting and touring the studios. Learn about studio management, arts education techniques and open studio practices. Gain experience in designing and implementing hands-on arts education activities in a community setting for participants of all ages and abilities. The ideal intern will have experience working with children and strong interpersonal skills.
- Implementation: Work closely with the Art Educator and Director, Youth & Adult Education Programs to establish a plan for the internship that complements the student's interests while providing needed support for GreenHill.
CURATORIAL INTERN
- Goals: Gain experience in all aspects of GreenHill's exhibition program including research, inventory, installation, exhibition-related programs, and publicity
- Implementation: Work closely with the Director, Curatorial & Artistic Programs to establish a plan for the internship that complements the student's interests while providing needed support for GreenHill.
SHOP INTERN
- Goals: Gain valuable, hands-on experience at GreenHill’s shop by assisting with daily operations and discovering the inner workings of retail. Responsibilities will include inventory management, point of sale support, organizational tasks, and collaborating closely with both artists and customers.
- Implementation: Work closely with the Shop Manager to establish an internship plan that complements the student’s interests while providing needed support for GreenHill.
ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN
- Goals: Gain knowledge and training in non-profit development and membership management. This position will work with the Membership and Development Coordinator to assist with quarterly membership mailings, grants administration, database management, gift and pledge management, donor stewardship and event planning. The ideal intern will have acute attention to detail with strong computer skills.
- Implementation: Work closely with the Membership and Development Coordinator to establish a plan for the internship that complements the student’s interests while providing needed support for GreenHill.
