Indelible: Making Marks That Cannot Easily Be Removed
Works By Elliana Esquivel, Aimée Garcia, Isabel Lu and Abir Mohsen
July 25 - November 2, 2024
Elliana Esquivel, Aimée Garcia, Isabel Lu and Abir Mohsen
Indelible presents four NC artists whose artwork reflects the role of inherited cultural practices in imagining stories that reflect individual investigations of identity. Paintings and installations by Aimee Garcia, polychrome clay sculptures by Abir Mohsen, expressive portraits by Isabel Lu, ink drawings and sculptures by Elliana Esquivel give utterance to “marginalized voices.” These talented artists have distinct styles and wield multiple mediums to create works that embrace melancholy and offer the possibility of transcendence.
