I absolutely love working at GreenHill!
I started out as a curatorial intern working in the gallery. Now as an ArtQuest Facilitator I help kids and parents with art activities and supplies, while also making sure the studio is well stocked and clean.
Our busiest night is always free Family Night on Wednesdays. Everyone is able to choose what activity they complete, and can move at their own pace. It’s always nice to see returning families and to introduce newcomers. Often a family will meet their friends and make art together. I love seeing how excited and creative the children get, even if they were hesitant and shy at first.
It’s great to see parents join in on the fun and make their own paintings or clay sculptures. I love that everyone is welcomed, even families that might not be able to afford admission otherwise. All age ranges participate, from toddlers to teenagers. We often have helpful volunteers, including our most recent one, Chloe who brings her guitar and ukulele every week. Kids can also participate in special programs with volunteers, such as Chinese paper folding, and also interact with pop up artists. In my opinion, Family night is the most fun and important night of the week.
